Job Description:

Oversees the lab billing and works closely with management to evaluate department's productivity and performance to ensure revenue.

Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and billing and collections policies in order to facilitate attainment of accounts receivable (AR) targets.

Champions revenue cycle improvements throughout the organization including working with appropriate individuals including medical records, billing, denial management, etc., to aid in the resolution of identified revenue cycle issues.

Actively participates in staff development and assessments to support industry best practice.

Coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure client requests are handled appropriately (i.e. within time and budget).

Provides direction and leadership within all areas of the billing department including but not limited to reimbursement, coding & compliance, and credentialing business units.

Monitors and makes decisions regarding the value and collectability of accounts receivables. Makes recommendations and procedures to keep Days of Revenue in AR at acceptable levels.

Prepares monthly analysis and reports pertaining to department.

Regularly conduct client conference calls and/or meetings to review accounts receivable performance, payer issues, and trends.

Ensure the appropriate preparation, analysis, and presentation of all client management deliverables. This would include A/R measurement statistics, payer trends, fee schedules, and ad hoc financial reports.

Develop and maintain positive client relations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Regular attendance is an essential job function of this position.

Experience working in a medical facility.

Any laboratory billing experience to include a solid background in all aspects of laboratory revenue cycle management.

Experience in toxicology, CGX, PGX, pathology, or blood billing is a plus.

Hands on experience in the laboratory billing market place such as AR, billing, and coding procedures.
