Medical, Dental, Vision

SUMMARY OF POSITION To ensure that all duties assigned are done in a timely manner and to participate in patient care within all aspects of an Ambulatory Surgery Center, as well as within the confines of the scope of practice relevant to a Licensed Practical Nurse. To maintain the medical records at a level that exceeds licensing standards and provides for strict patient confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Includes, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Demonstrate awareness of patients' concerns and a willingness to address them.
  • Ensure patients' safety and comfort during course of visit.
  • Observe pertinent changes in symptoms of patients' condition and take appropriate action; report to physician.
  • Takes patient's vital signs. Update patient's medical record
  • Document all nursing interventions in patient record.
  • Scans all pertinent documents pertaining to patient in the patient record.
  • Review preoperative charts to ensure all lab studies and necessary paperwork are available for procedures.
  • Explain to the patient the procedure they are having and obtain required consent forms signed by the patient.
  • Clean and restock patient care areas as needed.
  • Assist physician as needed.
  • Assist with pre-op and post-op room turnover.
  • Initiate communication to the Manager immediately in areas that require feedback, follow-up, or need to be addressed.
  • Demonstrate tact and understanding in dealings with patients, team members, members of other disciplines and the public.
  • Follow-up with patients post procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Office skills obtained through applicable job experience and/or appropriate education
  • Strong sense of professionalism
  • Ability to organize work according to priorities
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner while working against specific deadlines
  • Ability to carry out special assignments with minimal supervision
  • Maturity and tact in dealing with patients, clients and co-workers
  • Effective communication with patients, referring physician offices, and co-workers

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current State of Georgia license as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Computer Skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite which includes Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
